New Club members
I forgot to mention, we now have 36 members: David Mason and Angie Thompson are the latest to become official members!
AIB news
Some recent AIB news:
We have a logo (Yeah! finally...) that you can see on the right side of the blog... Thanks to everybody for their feedaback and help! Bill is making the club banner; he mentionned that he might have it on Saturday.
Also, the club has been incorporated. It is now Amelia Island Boules, Inc, a non-profit organization. The club is now able to accept donations and sponsor fees and to deposit them at the BB&T bank. As a matter of fact, we have already received some financial support (JJ's Bistro in Jacksonville) and other commitments to support the November Petanque America tournament. A big thank to our Treasurer, Ron, for all his help in setting up the club and to Colson and Colleen for organizing the signage campaign...
We are hoping to get enough donations to be able to improve our playing area, to organize a couple of feasts during the year and to help those member teams that are interested in playing in the Regionals. Should you have ideas about possible sponsors, please send them to Colson or Colleen.
Finally, we are getting back to the time of the year where we can play at the Marina again. Wednesday (tomorrow) is still at Karibo, but Saturday morning will be at the Marina at 9:30am...
See you there!

Karibo Players in action on August 25th
Whatever the reason, the weather getting better, the tournament style of play allowing for a $30.00 gift certificate to the winning team or the flowing Pilsner microbrew-the Karibo group is getting bigger every week... and the games are getting equally spirited!
This week, a playoff was necessary to determine the winning team...
Here are a few pictures and videos from last Wednesday.
Drawing of the teams:

Philippe shows how it's (almost) done:

The reason why I've listed the WeatherUnderground website in the Favorite Links section is because of this: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201090_model.html#a_topad.
